Education
When I first think of education, what pops into my head is a classroom, teachers, studying or taking notes. However education is much more than what is learned in a classroom. Education is the knowledge you gain from anything you do or read or see. For example traveling to a different country and seeing different cultures and learning different beliefs can provide knowledge to people. I do not believe that the only education one can receive is in school. Knowledge can be gained from anything at all. It can range from reading a book, magazine, newspaper, seeing a play, watching a movie. School limits education to only a few subjects that include math, science, history and english. Of course these subjects are important, but there is so much in the world other than just those four subjects. The world is full of so much that we as humans have not discovered yet. School should not be seen as the only way education is gained. For example, someone who has not attended school, but has read thousands of books and newspapers, can be just as intelligent as someone who has attended school. It all depends on the person. Anyone can learn and gain an education but it depends on their dedication and how much they want it. If someone is eager to learn they can do it on their own, school is not necessary for someone to have an education.

This was an impressive post. I enjoyed reading it, as it was genuinely your thoughts put into words. I appreciate the ease with which your opinion on this situation could be read. Your opinion was successfully explained and I sense the effect your post intended to give off. Wonderful job, Britt!
ReplyDeleteBrittany, I could not have agreed with you any more! I enjoyed how you worded everything. You kept me interested and eager for more. Your perspective of education might be different from others, but I agree with your viewpoint that school is not a necessary component to receive an education.
ReplyDeleteYour final statement holds much validity to it Britanny, however, would all individuals pursue education if it were not a requirement? Intelligence exists in a variety of forms, shapes and sizes. It can range from street smarts to book smarts like you mentioned. Your claim was clearly expressed and expanded upon. Excellent work.
ReplyDeleteWonderful blog post Brittany! I enjoyed hearing your opinion on a subject which can raise so many arguments. In my opinion, education mostly comes from school and volunteering. I cannot imagine myself outside of school learning more than I currently do. But that is just my personal opinion. Enjoyable post!
ReplyDeleteWonderful post Brittany! I agree with all of your points. School is not the only way to receive education. I also enjoyed seeing what you said could provide education to a person and I agree completely. This was a wonderfully worded post with intriguing ideas and statements! Thank you for sharing these ideas!
ReplyDeleteAstonishing post Brittany! I can agree with almost every statement you made regarding to what you believe education is and where it can come from. I agree that one does now have to attend school to become educated and intelligent. This post was wonderfully worded and captivating. I enjoyed reading this post and was intrigued by your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you started this blog post! Initially, one thinks of a classroom and a school environment when someone mentions the word education. You went on to state how and why an education is much more than what is taught by an instructor inside the restricting walls of a classroom. I could not agree more with your point that experiences are a major form of education and maybe even the most effective. I enjoyed reading the part where you mentioned that a dedicated and motivated person outside of a classroom can learn just as much as an average student in a classroom. The organization of this blog helps the reader clearly understand your ideas. Wonderful blog post!
ReplyDeleteBrittany, I concur with your argument that "School is not necessary for someone to have an education" (Markarian 1). Your description of all that awaits us beyond the stifling confines of the classroom is extremely hopeful and enticing. Your ideas are lucid as is, however minor adjustments in the few inconspicuous grammatical errors you had in maintaining parallelism within your sentences would have further polished your explicit ideals, which were expressed rather valiantly.
